by the City to implement the conversion
of the old electrical sub-station on
Raleigh Street into a library and study
centre, as part of the Yeoville inner
city suburb upgrade.
This is one of catalytic projects identified
in the urban design framework for the
area (prepared by ASM). The library
is centrally located and serves as a
study centre and ‘community room’ for
the diverse pan-African community of
Yeoville. It is a home for projects
that can break xenophobic attitudes,
